Abi Thompson, (41) has created her own small business, Abigail's Trails. I asked Abi why she decided to create her business and this is what she said: "I want to share my passion and experience with others, as being outside, whatever the weather, inspiring others to enjoy walking in nature, is what makes me truly happy.". Her business is located in, Helmshore, East Lancashire.

Abi is a qualified and experienced Mountain Leader which means that you can relax and leave the navigation and logistics to her, which can be very helpful if you are a beginner. Abi created her business in July 2020 in the hope of encouraging others in the area and around the UK to exercise and discover a newfound love for walking. People of all ages and abilities can join Abi in her guided walks on many trails around the UK. She has many different trails that people can take part in, and even has trails that are around 1-2km long which incorporate nature-based activities such as den building, art and bug hunts for families with young children.

One of Abi's guided trails are 'Grand Scale Trails' which include overnight stays at many places around the Uk such as Snowdon, The Yorkshire 3 Peaks and Helvellyn. These trails are more suitable for people with a good fitness level although anyone can still take part. Friendly, well-behaved dogs are allowed on Abi's Trails which can be good if you a struggling for dog-care or looking for new places to take your dogs for scenic walks. If you are not looking for walks on that are quite far away there are also walks that are more local in Rossendale which take place over multiple days where you will sleep at a local campsite and walk for up to 12 hours each day.

If you are interested in joining one of Abi's trails, or just looking to try out a new activity with the help of other supportive individuals, please visit Abi's facebook page "Abigail's Trails" or go on to her website (abigailstrails.co.uk) to book a session or contact Abi with any queries you may have.
