A woman has been taken to hospital after a two-car crash in Holcombe this evening, Tuesday.

Fire engines, police and paramedics were sent to Lumb Carr Road, near the Hare and Hounds pub, following the crash just before 6.30pm.

The fire service said a 76-year-old woman was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital with "minor injuries".

No other injuries have been reported.

An eyewitness saw two fire engines, two ambulances and a large police presence.

The road was closed but has now reopened.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Just before 6.30pm this evening (Tuesday), one fire engine from Ramsbottom fire station was called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Lumb Carr Road, Ramsbottom.

“The crews arrived quickly at scene and worked to make the area safe. Colleagues from North West Ambulance Service treated a 76-year-old women at the scene before she was taken to hospital.

“Firefighters were in attendance for around 30 minutes.”

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson added: "At around 6pm on Tuesday, officers were called to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision.

"One woman sustained minor injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

"No arrests were made."
