A major road in Bury will be closed for almost three weeks to repair a collapsed sewer.

Parts of Bell Lane and Moorgate near to the KFC will be closed from 18 February to 12 March due to works that will be carried out by United Utilities.

A spokesperson for United Utilities said: “We’re undertaking repairs to a collapsed sewer.

“We apologise for the inconvenience causes but it’s essential maintenance that needs to be carried out.

“There will be diversions in place to direct traffic to alternative routes.”

Traffic is expected to be directed up Taylor Street and onto Walmersley Road back down to the main junction.
