A Bury café bar has announced the launch of programme of health and wellbeing events.

The events, run by Cosalea, are designed to help boost immunity, strengthen the body and quieten the mind in response to high customer demand.

The programme includes Tai Chi, Qigong, Guided Meditation, Yoga and Day Retreats which are designed to help people improve their lives both mentally and physically.

The Walshaw Road venue was launched as a community hub and owner Lisa Moore was keen to offer customers sessions to enhance physical and mental wellbeing during these uncertain times as the cost-of-living crisis rumbles on.

Lisa said: “More and more, our customers are asking for wellness and holistic events and so the timing is perfect to launch our ongoing wellbeing programme which is perfectly fitting with our ethos.

“We’ve responded through putting on events with our partners, which are proving extremely popular.”

Cosalea hosted its first day retreat in January, which had such a high demand that it is now a monthly event.

Run by Warrior Spirit Tai Chi and Qigong, they are designed to enhance health, wellness and physical and mental strength and attendees benefit from various sessions and activities as well as a homecooked hot lunch, as well as coffee and cakes, from the Cosalea chefs.

Upcoming dates for events are March 25, April 16 and May 21.

Cosalea has also launched a Tuesday night guided meditation session, which incorporates the ancient Chinese exercise and healing system Qigong that involves gentle movement, meditation and controlled breathing to lower stress and anxiety, increase focus, and improved balance and flexibility.

Scott Broadhurst from Warrior Spirit said: “More than ever, people often need a boost.

“Our classes and retreat days are all about taking a little time for you and boosting your wellbeing from the inside out, to improve physical and mental health and boost your immunity.

“It’s also a chance for people to get together and meet new, likeminded friends.

“Cosalea is the perfect venue to do with – it’s warm, cosy, friendly and serves great food and drink.”

Lisa added: “Our aim is to offer a welcoming social space that brings the local community together, providing some much-needed relaxation in these challenging times.

“Our wellbeing programme offers something different as well as giving people the opportunity to make new friends and leave feeling clearer and ready to face anything.”
