A "suspected cannabis farm" has been uncovered in Bury early this morning, Thursday.

Police raided an address on Athlone Avenue at around 6.40am and found around 100 mature plants.

No arrests have been made and Greater Manchester Police (GMP) says enquiries are ongoing.

A GMP spokesperson said: "Police in Bury uncovered a suspected cannabis farm at on Athlone Avenue, Bury, at about 6.40am today (Thursday).

"Officers from Operation Revoke carried out a warrant and found around 100 mature plants.

"There have been no arrests as enquiries continue.”

Sergeant James Donnelly added: “Members of the public should report suspicious activity to the police and we will listen to and investigate concerns around drugs and drug dealing.

“Cannabis cultivation is often linked to wider criminality and disruption.”
