A young man from Bury was found dead at his home last month, an inquest has heard.

Matthew Higginbotham was aged just 22 when he was found hanging at his home on Garstang Drive in Bury on April 29 this year, Rochdale Coroner's Court was told.

Police coroner officer Emma Thompson told the inquest opening that there were "no suspicious circumstances or third party involvement" involved with his death.

The opening of his inquest on Wednesday also heard that Mr Higginbotham worked as a labourer.

Coroner Matthew Cox adjourned the inquest, with the date for the full inquest yet to be confirmed.

He asked for statements to be gathered from Mr Higginbotham’s GP.
