Drivers in and around Bury will have seven National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Five of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 9pm May 2 to 6am June 3, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M60 anticlockwise junction 19 - 18 lane closures and slip road closures due to drainage.

• A56, from 8pm February 17 to 6am July 1, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: A56 northbound and southbound, M66, junction 1 to Bent Gate - carriageway closure for carriageway reconstruction/renewal.

A further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 8.30pm May 22 to 5am May 24, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M62 eastbound and westbound, junction 18 to junction 19 - lane closure for communications.

• M66, from 8.30pm May 30 to 5am May 31, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M66 southbound, junction 1 to 2 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• M66, from 9pm May 31 to 5am June 1, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M66 northbound and southbound, junction three - two lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm June 5 to 5am June 7, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M60 clockwise junction 17 - 18 - M66 northbound, junction three - two lane closures and carriageway closures.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
