Beer and gin lovers will return to Whitefield for an event that is expected to be "bigger and better" than in previous years.

The annual Beer and Gin Festival is set to take place at Stand Cricket Club from Friday, July 7 to Sunday, July 9 with the promise of being “bigger and better” than before.

Attendees will be able to try a wide selection of beers, cider and wine from a range of brewers and local boutique small-batch gins.

Paul Wilkinson, chairman of the Hamilton Road club, said: "We are thrilled to host another fantastic Beer and Gin Festival at Stand Cricket Club.

“We have an exciting lineup of local and national breweries this year, and we cannot wait to try each one.”

On Friday, visitors can enjoy junior training sessions and live music as well as hot food all night.

On Saturday there will be a cricket match between Stand CC 1st XI and Bradshaw CC 1st XI, more hot food, and live music in the evening.

And on Sunday, the annual T20 friendly match between Stand CC and Sedgley Park Rugby Club will take place and the club will continue to serve hot food and play live music.

Mr Wilkinson added: "Whether you come for one day or all three, we are sure you will have a great time.

"Entry is free, and there are no pre-booked tickets required, so bring your friends and family for a weekend full of fun."
