A dessert parlour which moved to the town centre in March has released a new summer menu to bring a taste of sunshine to Bury.

Kaspa’s Desserts, located next to Racconto Lounge and Bob and Bert’s at The Rock Shopping Centre, has announced the release of a new menu after a “rollercoaster” of a few months.

Area manager Nidal Alkhanshali said that although the business has been a “rollercoaster” since opening, they are excited to shake things up with their new menu items, designed to “make you feel like you’re on holiday”.

He said: “We have so many flavours of ice cream and different desserts but, it can get a bit boring after a while which is why it is so nice to see these new changes.”

This is the first menu switch-up that the franchise has made in almost two years and the new menu additions have been welcomed by staff.

Nidal said: “My personal favourite is the Tropical Dragon Sundae, it has coconut gelato, dragon fruit sorbet, fresh kiwi, whipped cream and kiwi sauce, it tastes like you’re on your holidays.”

Other new items include a citrus sunset selection, salted caramel popcorn crepe, salted caramel cookie dough and salted caramel waffle.

As one of several new brands to join The Rock, Nidal said that it has been a rollercoaster but he is feeling confident.

He said he is also excited to see the opening of the franchise’s other brand, Doner and Gyros.

He said: “As well as being new, I do think the weather has a lot to do with how busy we get but things are starting to even out and we are also preparing to open a new store next door.

“When you open a Kaspa's you are given the chance to open a Döner and Gyros too, so we jumped at the chance and are now going to be the first one in the North West.

“It has been a new experience for me and although there have been a couple of hiccups with renovations, we expect to be open by the end of July and have had a lot of interest so far.

“It is in the perfect location next to Kaspa's and customers can sit in, take away or order for delivery.”
