Bury's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 9pm on Sunday, June 25 to 5.30am on Tuesday, June 27, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M62 eastbound, junction 18 - 20 has lane closures and closures of slips due to general maintenance works.

• A56, from 8pm on February 17 to 6am on July 8, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: A56 northbound and southbound, M66, junction 1 to Bent Gate - carriageway closure for carriageway reconstruction and renewal.

A further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M60, from 9pm tonight, Monday, June 26 to 5am on July 15, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M60 anti-clockwise J20 to J19 has a lane closure for drainage.

• M66, from 8pm on Tuesday, June 27 to 5am on Thursday, June 29, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M66 both directions, junction 2 to junction 4 has a lane closure for litter clearance.

• M60, from 9pm on Wednesday, June 28 to 5am on Friday, June 30, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M60 anti-clockwise, junction 18 to junction 16 has a lane closure for horticulture.

• M66, from 8pm on July 5 to 5am on July 6, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M66 southbound, junction 1 to junction 2 has a lane closure for horticulture.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
