New data has found that Bury is in the top 10 places where people are most likely to fail their driving test.

The figures from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) revealed the best and worst places to take a driving test and the town was rated as the eighth worst place with a pass rate of 36.9 per cent.

The only other place in Greater Manchester which scored in the top 10 worst places was Rochdale (10th) with a pass rate of 37.3 per cent.

The average pass rate across the UK is 48.4 per cent, which is worst it has been in three years, and lower than last year (2021/22), when it was 48.9 per cent.

The place where you are most likely to fail your driving test is Speke in Liverpool, which has a pass rate of just 29 per cent.

The 10 test centres which had the highest driving test pass rates were all in Scotland with Isle of Tiree and Benbecula Island sharing the top position with 85.7 per cent pass rates.

In the last 12 months, more than 1.68 million driving tests.

The gender playing field is levelling with the smallest difference (3.78 per cent) between male and female pass rate records - the lowest since 2007.
