Head for the Hills music festival has been hailed a success with plenty of musical talent and entertainment putting on a show.

From magicians to a brass band, the festival at Burrs Country Park offers a wide range of choice for all the family to enjoy.

One festival goer said: “It is getting busy now, and there is a children’s story book reading at the campfire stage.

“It’s great, a nice, relaxed atmosphere, with some great musical talent, overcast but very warm, and no signs of rain.

“It is also very family friendly.”

The line-up for today features Katherine Priddy, Izzie Walsh and Mr Wilson’s Second Liners.

The Saturday line-up will be headlined by The Selecter, the Lottery Winners, Dutch Uncles, Elephant Sessions and Urban Theory.

The event is organised by Bury Met who have promises two full days of great music across two stages, artisan food and craft beer, arts areas, strolling theatre, circus skills workshops and lots of family fun.

Previous headliners include Badly Drawn Boy, Everything Everything, Inspiral Carpets, Public Service Broadcasting, Gaz Coombes, The Wonderstuff, Maximo Park, Boomtown Rats, The Stranglers, Sinead O’Connor, The Waterboys, The Proclaimers, Guillemots, Beth Orton and Soul II Soul.

The two-day open day festival has attracted international artists and household names to perform since its first year in 2011.
