Bury mayor, Cllr Sandra Walmsley, who also attended, said: “I was pleased to join staff, residents and their families at the 25th anniversary celebration of Abbeywood Care Home in Tottington.

“We enjoyed entertainment in the gardens with a barbecue and drinks on what was a beautiful hot, sunny day.

“I was very impressed with the facilities when staff guided me around to showcase the newly renovated lounges and bedrooms.

“Abbeywood provides a real ‘home from home’ and it’s clear the staff care deeply about their residents.

“Congratulations to the Durkin family on making Abbeywood a great success, I wish them all the best for the future.”
