A Bury charity supporting blind and partially sighted people is inviting residents to get involved in its campaign to promote eye services and wellbeing.

Bury Blind Society, based on Tenterden Street, is taking part in National Eye Health Week. The annual event takes place from Monday, September 18 to Sunday, September 24 and promotes the importance of good eye health and the need for regular eye tests.

The theme of this year's event is eye care services, health and wellbeing and the charity has announced it will be raising funds and awareness with a 190-mile static bike challenge.

The challenge will take place at various locations in Bury and will be the equivalent of the coast-to-coast challenge.
