Night-time road closures will be in place on a major road in Bury for eight days from Sunday to allow repair works to take place.

Pilsworth Road will be re-laid from Roch Bank Road across the junction with the M66 to Jacksons Fold Barn between Sunday, September 24 and Monday, October 2.

To allow for resurfacing the roundabout next to Pilsworth Asda, there will be no access to Pilsworth Retail Park and Industrial Estate from 8pm on Sunday, September 24 until 6am on Monday, September 25, and from 8pm on Sunday, October 1 until 6am on Monday, October 2.

During the works, drivers can access the M66 from junction 17, M60 in Whitefield and junction 2, M66 at Heap Bridge in Bury.

Access will be available at all other times during the course of the work.

The repairs, which will cost £450,000, are part of the council’s £30m programme of highways works.
