How do you like your eggs in the morning?

If the answer is tasty, rich, indulgent and with a kick to them, then I recommend the Turkish eggs at Prestwich’s newest brunch spot.

Bury Times: Milk & Miel, Bury New Road in Prestwich

Milk and Miel is the latest eatery to join Prestwich’s thriving foodie scene, having opened just last month.

Open seven days a week, from 9am until 3pm, this is very much a daytime hangout and the menu has you covered for all your breakfast and lunch needs.

Milk and Miel takes up the spot next to Frurt on Bury New Road, in what used to be Vinci and the leafy green wall that adorned the café bar can still be seen.

It’s a site that has been several hospitality venues in recent years, such as the Dotted Note and Chocolate Café, none of which have managed to stay the distance.

But hopefully the team behind Milk and Miel are onto a winner with their friendly service and top-notch food offering.

My Turkish eggs (£9.50) consisted of two eggs which were poached to perfection on a very generous bed of dill yoghurt and chilli oil. The menu says all the bread is freshly cooked and this is evident in the hearty slices of flatbread that accompanied my dish.

Very enjoyable although a little rich for my palate by the last mouthful, I’ve already got my sights set on trying the full English on my next visit.

There is something for everyone as there are vegetarian and vegan versions of the full English, as well as steak and chips and also a children’s menu.

My other half opted for a dish from the specials menu - a chipotle omelette with peppers, onions, spinach, jalapenos, a side of long-stem broccoli with a couple of beef sausages added on for good measure. I’m told the dish was filling and full of flavour, a tasty omelette indeed!

Our toddler enjoyed a bowl of yogurt and fruit while us adults washed down our grub with an Americano and a cappuccino, bringing the total bill to £30.20.

Two members of staff were on shift, both very attentive with one handing my son some crayons and a colouring sheet and the other happily chatting to him.

There were also some delicious looking cakes on offer but that’s a treat for another time.

Why not work up an appetite with an autumn walk around the Clough then head to Milk and Miel to refuel.

The venue is available to hire from 4pm. On Instagram, follow @milkmieluk
