A borough man has been found with hundreds of indecent images of children.
Terrence Stewart appeared at Bolton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
The 52-year-old admitted that for a year from March 2021 he made 100 category A images - the most serious of their kind - of children as well as 147 category B and 377 category C.
Rafih Khan, prosecuting, said: “The crown would submit this is not suitable to be sentence in the magistrates court.
“It will need to go to the crown court due to the severity of the charges.”
Stewart, of Stanley Road, Whitefield, was placed on the sex offenders' register.
The case was sent to Bolton Crown Court where he will be sentenced next month.
