Drivers in and around Bury will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for in the next couple of weeks.

One of them is expected to cause moderate delays with motorists facing a hold up of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M60, from 8.30pm on Thursday, January 4 to 5am on January 15, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M60 both directions junction 17 to junction 18 - lane closure for central reservation on behalf of National Highways.

• M66, from 9pm on Thursday, January 4 to 5am on Friday, January 5, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M66 southbound, junction 2 to junction 3 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

• M66, from 9pm on Thursday, January 4 to 5am on Saturday, January 6, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M66 southbound, junction 1 to junction 2 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 8pm on Saturday, January 6 to 6am on Sunday, January 7, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M60 clockwise at junction 19 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

• A56, from 9pm on Saturday, January 6 to 5am on Tuesday, January 9, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M66 both directions at junction 2 to junction 1 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
