The healthcare cash plan provider, Medicash, has been a loyal supporter of Bury Hospice, supporting our core costs without restricting funding.

The sustainability of the hospice, which includes the covering of day-to-day operations, is heavily reliant on financial contributions from individual giving, as well as donations from corporate sponsors, among other avenues of revenue such as the Bury Hospice Lottery and retail.

Our aim at Bury Hospice is to be the pride of Bury and its surrounding districts by helping people to fulfil their wishes during the challenging time of facing life-limiting illnesses.

We work hard to provide quality care whenever and wherever it is needed most.

We care for the whole person by taking a holistic approach that endeavours to cater for the physical, emotional, spiritual, psychological and social needs of the patients, families, and carers who require our specialist services.

We aim to give patients the best quality of life that we possibly can by providing care that is appropriate to the individual needs of our local community.

As one of the oldest healthcare cash plan providers in the UK today, with nearly 150 years of experience in pioneering healthcare solutions, Medicash is committed to charitable giving.

The Medicash Foundation makes regular donations to health-related charities and has given more than £1million to charities over the last 10 years.

Bury Hospice is grateful to have receive some of this essential grant funding.

To date, Medicash funding has gone towards our inpatient unit, outreach programmes that support patients in their own homes, and bereavement counselling and family support.

The absence of hospice care would likely lead to increased suffering for patients, emotional distress for families, strain on the NHS, and unnecessary hospitalisations.

Medicash has played a big part in supporting health-based charities across the north-west, and we at Bury Hospice can attest to the huge difference such generous funding makes locally.

We appreciate every bit if funding that we receive as it enables us to sustain our pivotal care provision at no cost to our patients or their families.

Hospice care plays a crucial role in ensuring that individuals can experience the best end-of-life treatment.
