A man was robbed in broad daylight by two thugs with large sticks.

Police were called after the incident, which happened at the Kirklees Trail between Tottington and Brandlesholme at around 2.30pm on Thursday, February 1.

The man was approached by two young men, who carried large sticks and demanded the victim to hand over his binoculars and watch.

The first suspect was described as white, of a medium build and approximately aged 17 to 18. He was wearing black tracksuit bottoms, black trainers that look like running shoes and a black shiny hooded top with the hood pulled over his head.

The second suspect was also described as white, of a medium build and aged around 17 to 18. He was approximately 5'8 in height and was wearing black tracksuit bottoms, black trainers and a black shiny hooded top with the hood pulled over his head and his jacket zipped up.

He had a distinctive tattoo around his knuckles that looked like horns or barbed wire.

It is not known which direction the suspects went to following the robbery.

A Bury police spokesperson said: “We would like to ask any residents who have CCTV covering access points to the Kirklees Trail to check their cameras to see if anybody matching the descriptions of the offenders are captured.
