Bury Pride will be returning this year and organisers have now confirmed the date of the popular event.

The celebration will take place on Saturday, June 1 and organisers are looking for people and organisations to get involved in the fun.

Community groups and borough businesses can take part in "The Walking Rainbow" march through the town centre.

The event this year will not take place in the Elizabethan Suite at the town hall like previous years, with the location set to be announced later this year.

For community organisations or businesses that would like to bring a vehicle such as a wrapped vehicle or fire engine, a marching band or any kind of performance, a form needs to be completed on the Bury Pride website.

People can also apply to be a stall holder, perform on the main stage or just volunteer to help the day run smoothly.

Last year, former X Factor contestant Sam Bailey performed as well as groups such as Bury Fire Choir.

It is hoped that the event this year will be bigger and better than previous years.
