Drivers in and around Bury will have nine National Highways road closures to watch out for in the next two weeks.

Four of them are expected to cause moderate delays with motorists facing hold-ups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works lists shows that one closure is already in place:

• A56, from 9pm on Monday, February 26 to 5am on Wednesday, February 28, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M66 northbound and southbound, junction 2 to 1 - lane closures and carriageway closure for barrier repairs.

A further eight closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M66, from 8pm on Wednesday, February 28 to 6am on Thursday, February 29, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M66 southbound, junction 3 to junction 4 - lane closure for sign erection on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 8pm on Wednesday, February 28 to 5am on Thursday, February 29, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M60 clockwise junction 19 to junction 20 - lane closure for drainage on behalf of National Highways.

• M66, from 8pm on Wednesday, February 28 to 5am on Thursday, February 29, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M66 northbound, junction 3 to junction 2 - lane closure for structure - maintenance on behalf of National Highways.

• M66, from 9pm on Monday, March 4 to 5am on Tuesday, March 5, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M66 northbound, junction 3 exit slip road closure due to works for TfGM.

• M60, from 9pm on Tuesday, March 5 to 6am on Wednesday, March 6, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M66 southbound, junction three exit slip road closure due to works for TfGM.

• M60, from 8pm on Thursday, March 7 to 5am on Friday, March 8, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M60 clockwise junction 18 to junction 19 - lane closure for barriers which will be permanent on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 9pm on Saturday, March 9 to 5am on Monday, March 11, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M60 both directions, junction 18 to junction 19 - lane closure and carriageway closure for barrier repairs.

• M60, from 9pm on Sunday, March 10 to 5am on Monday, March 11, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M60 both directions, junction 16 to junction 18 - lane closure for barriers which will be permanent on behalf of National Highways.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
