The exciting news is out – we just couldn’t hold it in any longer.

We are about to open a new Bury Hospice shop in Sedgley (on Tuesday, March 5 at 9.15am), which will bring you even more items at great prices.

Whether you want clothes for this coming summer or ornaments for your front room, you are bound to find what you need at the new branch located on 17 Bury New Road, Sedgley, M25 9JZ.

We have several charity shops situated throughout the borough, including stores in Bury town centre, Radcliffe, Prestwich and Ramsbottom.

These shops are in addition to our online eBay store, our warehouse/donation centre, and our dedicated furniture showroom.

We are really excited about the latest Sedgley addition.

Sedgley is a place where we didn’t currently have a shop, so our presence there will now provide local residents and commuters with the opportunity of purchasing quality second-hand goods, as well as also giving us a presence in the heart of the area.

Each Bury Hospice shop stands as a physical space where people who might not have had first-hand experience of the hospice, may gain insight into what we do, and why we do it.

This understanding is gathered at leisure during your daily/weekly/monthly shop.

It costs over £4m to run the hospice, of which we have to fund more than £3m to cover all costs.

Our shops are an important way of generating much-needed income, which ultimately means that we can continue being a presence in our local Bury communities.

Our shops are vital. The hospice only receives 13 per cent funding from central government, therefore anything we can do to ensure the financial viability of the hospice is paramount to us being able to continue keeping our doors open and serving the people of Bury.

Head of commercial income, corporate fundraising and lottery compliance at the hospice, Anthony Lord, said: “The Sedgley shop will offer high quality, pre-loved items at competitive prices.

“We are looking to open seven days a week, and we are currently seeking volunteers who are keen to get on board with the exciting plans we have going forward.”

We ask you to support the new shop in whichever way you can, whether that may be by volunteering your time to help in store, by donating pre-loved items for re-sale, or by treating yourself to hidden treasures yet to be discovered in the new Sedgley shop.

We cannot wait to welcome you!

The shop will open from 9.15am to 4.45pm from Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
