Everyday life in Bury and the dire state of our nation's economy won’t be moved by the Chancellor pulling a rabbit out of his election hat in the final throes of a failed government, clinging to its own survival, while it falls out with itself.

We’re ready for a general election now. The Tories should call it immediately.

Hunt, the caretaker Chancellor presides over yet more failed growth, an explosion in the cost of living, and the disastrous Truss budget that put him there, still spirals sky high mortgage repayments.

This reckless legacy has been supported at every turn by professional Tory party members.

The same gang who gave us corrupt Covid contracts, punishing cuts to local services which without a plan for growth now extend again with cuts to National Insurance.

Under the leadership of Labour leader Keir Starmer, the Labour Party is a changed party, ready to change Britain.

Labour is now firmly positioned as the party of economic security, offering a beacon of hope for working families across Bury.

After 14 years of chaos and instability under Tory rule, working people are bearing the brunt of their failure on the economy.

There have been 25 Tory tax rises since the last election. The tax burden has reached a 70 year high, placing further strain on Bury’s hardworking families.

The average family stands to be £1,200 worse off under the Tories tax bombshell.

The Labour government between 1997 and 2010 saw a rise in real weekly wages of £183 compared to a tiny £17 between 2010 and now.

The rise in household income under Labour was 28 per cent while it languishes at 11 per cent under this government.

Rishi Sunak's economy has fallen flat. We’re now in recession.

The economy is now smaller than when he first assumed office in 2022.

Another reason we need urgent change. Change we won’t get with more of the same.

Labour's focus will be on growing our economy fastest, creating more jobs, increasing investment, and putting more money in people's pockets.

Importantly, Labour will keep responsible spending rules to keep the cost of living and mortgage rates as low as possible, laying the foundation for sustainable economic growth.

Even the Tories agree with Labour on abolishing the non-dom tax status for the wealthiest.

Labour's plans to close tax loopholes benefitting the wealthiest and introducing a windfall tax on oil and gas giants will redistribute resources to essential services such as the NHS, education, and renewable energy initiatives as well as the introduction of GB Energy.

Labour's vision offers a tangible path forward for our town. Labour's agenda for economic prosperity will build a brighter future for all working families and usher in a new era of economic prosperity for everyone.
