More than 100 cannabis plants were found by police in an early morning drug raid.

The 117 plants, all in the early stages of the growth cycle were found in a police raid on Eldon Street, Bury at around 7am on Wednesday March 6.

Officers say that they also found the electricity in the house had been bypassed, which has since been made safe.

Sergeant Aaron McFadden, from GMP’s Bury Neighbourhood team, said: “We are committed to taking drugs off the streets of Bury and I am pleased with this morning’s finds.

"People who sell drugs ruin lives and don’t care for those who are left with addictions, financial problems and other issues.

“Our local neighbourhood team will continue to tackle criminality across Bury wherever it can be found, if it’s an issue for you, it’s an issue for us.

“If you have any information that you wish to share with us, please do, whether you’ve noticed something suspicious on your street or believe criminality is occurring in your area, all of the information we receive adds up and informs our work.”
