A knife arch was placed in Bury this week to deter knife crime and violent behaviour in the town.
Bury Town Centre officers conducted an operation in partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester (TFGM) on Thursday (March 6).

This operation involved supporting TFGM and the use of the knife arch to deter and challenge individuals that carry knives and weapons here at Bury and the wider Metrolink system.

A spokesperson for GMP said: “If you have any concerns or information regarding individuals carrying knives, I urge you to contact the police to report this.

“In an emergency, please contact 999, otherwise please contact 101 or report via online system.
“A reminder that we have the Knife Angel here on The Rock which hopes to send a message to educate people around the harmful effects that violent behaviour, use of knives has on the communities!”
