A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a serious incident outside a cafe in Whitefield.
Police attended the junction of Bury New Road and Radcliffe New Road on the morning of Saturday.
They said a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a serious incident outside Two Birds and One Stone. The man was the only one involved in what is believed to be an "isolated incident".
The junction of Bury New Road and Radcliffe New Road was shut into the afternoon to allow Crime Scene Investigation to work on the scene.
Chief Inspector Samantha Jackson, of GMP Bury, said: "After responding to an incident on Radcliffe New Road we understand the concern this will have raised in the community.
"I would like to provide clarity and reassurance on this as it is an isolated incident involving one person as the victim and their welfare who is still in a serious condition in hospital."
A post on social media by Two Birds and One Stone said: "There has been a serious incident outside Two Birds today and we have had to close.
"We aren’t going to discuss what’s gone on so don’t ask us. We are all OK."
