Drivers in and around Bury will have three National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

One of them is expected to cause moderate delays with motorists facing a hold up of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A56, from 8pm on May 8 to 6am on June 29, moderate delays of 10-30 minutes: M66 northbound, M66, junction 1 to A56 / A680, junction due to a carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• M66, from 9pm on Monday, May 13 to 5am on Wednesday, May 15, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M66 northbound, junction 2 to junction 1 - lane closure for barriers - permanent.

A further closure will begin tonight:

• M60, from 10pm tonight, Tuesday, May 14, to 5am tomorrow, Wednesday, May 15, slight delays of under 10 minutes: M62 eastbound, junction 18 to junction 19 due to a lane closure for communications.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
