A video, featuring a Burnley child’s passionate rant about the price of ice cream, has gone viral on TikTok.

Twins Marnie and Mylah Green, both aged eight, can be seen in the video.

Marnie launches a rant at the price of the ice creams, which were two for £9, and goes on to slam the ice cream vendor for not accepting cash.

Their aunt Karis Lambert posted the video with the caption: “The cost of living [crisis] is really taking its toll on Marnie”.

In the video Marnie says: “So there’s an ice cream van selling two ice creams, with two chewing gums in it, for bloody £9.... nine quid!”

Marnie then goes on to say you can buy an ice cream for £1 or £2 from the ice cream van that visits her street.

She said: “He is going to get nowhere [with those prices].

“And he only does bloody card and I was stood there with my cash. Bloody hell! That is well bad.”

Marnie then walks away shouting “I bet he can hear me!”.

The video has taken the internet by storm since being posted. At the time of writing, the original video has received more than 19 million views.

The twins even spoke to Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary on ITV show This Morning.

Karis said the reaction to the video has been “crazy” adding that she “can’t believe how many people have watched it”.

Many TikTok viewers have commented on the video, finding Marnie’s reaction hilarious.

One person said: “Even the kids are affected by this cost of living crisis.”

Another said: “I’m with her on this, I wouldn’t stand for £9 either.”

“The ‘bet he can hear me’ is so British, I love it,” said another.

A fourth commenter said: “This is hilarious… I can’t stop watching this.”
