A new business centre is set to open in Radcliffe.

Bury Council has officially taken possession of the keys to the new Radcliffe Enterprise Centre, an addition to plans to accelerate business growth in the town centre.

Located on the ground floor of Radcliffe Library on Stand Lane, the centre will offer office space, meeting areas and business support services once fit-out works are complete.

Councillor Charlotte Morris, cabinet member for regeneration and growth, said: "Today’s handover marks another important step in delivering our long-term vision for Radcliffe.

"The Radcliffe Enterprise Centre will give local businesses the space, support and confidence they need to innovate and thrive.

"By regenerating existing buildings and investing in high-quality business facilities, we’re turning investment into real places for our communities to live, work and spend time, creating a stronger local economy and helping ensure Radcliffe remains a place where people can build successful careers and businesses."

Designed to support start-ups and small businesses, the centre will provide a collaborative environment for entrepreneurs, freelancers and early-stage companies.

The project is part of the wider regeneration programme for Radcliffe, which focuses on creating new opportunities, improving services and driving long-term economic growth.

Councillor Gavin McGill, cabinet member for culture, economy and skills, said: "The development of the Radcliffe Enterprise Centre represents a significant investment not only in our local economy but in the cultural life of the town.

"By revitalising this important community building, we are creating a space that supports creativity and inclusive growth.

"The centre will contribute meaningfully to Radcliffe’s cultural renaissance and strengthen its role as a place where residents can engage, collaborate and thrive."

Library services will continue to operate from the first floor of the building until they move to the new £40 million Radcliffe Hub, which is set to open later this year.

Once the library relocates, the enterprise centre will expand to occupy the entire building.

Construction began in June 2025 and involved a full refit of the ground floor.

Eric Wright Construction built eight self-contained offices and co-working areas, along with a new boiler, heating system, new electricity supply and energy-efficient lighting.
