Residents on one street in Bury are celebrating after their postcode was one of the lucky few selected in Thursday’s People's Postcode Lottery draw.
Every day, the Postcode Lottery draws random postcodes from across the UK, with winning players receiving a £1,000 prize.
Those living in the postcode BL8 2PN are among Thursday’s winners.
That postcode includes a number of properties on Ivy Road in Bury.
The announcement was made as part of the lottery’s daily prize draw, with organisers revealing that players in 20 postcodes across the country would each be celebrating £1,000 wins.
Players taking part in the Postcode Lottery sign up using their postcode and pay £12.50 per month to enter the draws, with prizes announced every day.
At least 30 per cent of ticket revenue goes to charities and good causes in the UK and beyond.
The Postcode Lottery also manages lotteries on behalf of a number of charities, helping to raise funds for projects supporting communities, health initiatives, environmental programmes and international aid efforts.
The latest Bury win continues a run of good fortune for local residents who have featured in recent postcode draws.
Earlier this year, April proved particularly rewarding for some lucky players in the borough.
Residents on three different streets shared in a remarkable week of wins, collecting a combined total of more than half a million pounds.
Two neighbours on Railway Street each scooped £250,000 after their postcode was selected in a major draw.
Just days later, two further Bury postcodes landed daily prizes worth £1,000.
Players on Rowan Drive, with the postcode BL9 7PQ, celebrated a win on April 1, while residents on Rochford Avenue enjoyed their own postcode success the following day.
While the prize available to players on Ivy Road is much smaller than the six-figure sums handed out in some of the lottery’s larger draws, a £1,000 windfall will still be a welcome boost for those fortunate enough to be taking part.
That prize is the same as Radcliffe residents won last month, when their postcode was among the lucky ones drawn.
The People’s Postcode Lottery says its players help support "a wide range of charities and good causes across Britain and around the world".
Since launching, the lottery has raised billions of pounds for charitable organisations and community projects through ticket sales.
For the lucky players living in BL8 2PN, however, the focus today will be on celebrating a surprise cash prize landing on their doorstep.
The results of the daily prize draws can be viewed on the People’s Postcode Lottery website.
