T Level students are turning classroom learning into career opportunities.

Based at Bury College, the students have progressed to university or further study in fields such as nursing, sports journalism and teaching, thanks to the hands-on experience gained through industry placements.

T Levels combine academic study with practical work placements, helping students build confidence and better understand their chosen professions.

Ciara, who completed a T Level in Adult Nursing, is now studying Adult Nursing at the University of Manchester.

She gained experience on a dementia unit, working alongside nurses, physiotherapists, GPs and pharmacists.

Ciara said: "My placement taught me good bedside manner and communication skills.

"The course has given me a good basis for going to university."

Tejan completed a T Level in Management and Administration and is now studying Multimedia Sports Journalism at UCFB.

His placement at City Air Express gave him experience as a finance assistant and helped him develop key workplace skills.

Tejan said: "T Levels allow you to become more confident and learn the skills and knowledge that help you in the future."

Darcey, who completed a T Level in Education and Early Years: Assisting Teaching, is now studying Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) at Edge Hill University.

Her placement at Charlestown Primary School gave her direct classroom experience and an understanding of supporting pupils with different learning needs.

Darcey said: "It taught me that there's a range of different abilities in the classroom and that you need to learn to cater to those abilities."

Her course choice was influenced by the chance to gain practical, in-classroom experience alongside her studies.
