THE Year 7 rugby league team from Parrenthorn High School is celebrating victory in the inaugural Bolton and Bury schools’ league.
The school, in Heywood Road, Prestwich, defeated opponents Westhoughton High in the final, following on from six weeks of group games, during which time coaching was given by Swinton, Salford, Wigan and Leigh rugby league clubs.
Councillor Diana Ashworth, Bury’s Executive Member for Children and Young People, said: “The team from Parrenthorn should be really proud of their achievement. I am pleased that the team progressed so far.”
