FIFTEEN Bury churches are linking up for an exciting multi-sensory trip back to the very first Christmas.
The ‘Bethlehem Live’ event, to take place on Saturday, December 13, is being billed as Bury’s biggest Christmas card and will involve more than 100 people.
Rod Fairbrother, the instigator of the project, explained: “Bethlehem Live presents Christmas in a fresh fun way that is very accessible to people. As churches we wanted to find a way of presenting the Christmas message that would engage with people who wouldn’t normally go to church.”
‘Bethlehem Live’, a HOPE O8 event, takes people back in time on a 20-minute trip through the key events of the Christmas story.
‘Bethlehem Live’ is free and will take place between 10.30am and 4.30pm at Bury United Reformed Church in Parsons Lane.
The event will be opened by the Bishop of Bolton.
And it will be being promoted on December 6 when a Roman Centurion will be seen doing his Christmas shopping in Bury town centre!
