HISTORY came to life when staff and pupils at Bury Catholic Preparatory School mirrored characters and events from yesteryear.
Activities during the special history day at the Manchester Road school included a Victorian classroom for Year 1 youngsters and Year 6 children dressing up as Second World War evacuees and eating a pie made from a wartime recipe.
Not to be outdone, Year 4 children dressed up as Greeks and staged their own mini-Olympics. All 130 pupils and 25 staff donned suitable costumes to reflect the distinct historical theme.
And parents also gave their support to the event, organised by the school’s history co-ordinator Mrs Joanne Tomlinson.
