TOWN centre pubs and clubs aim to keep out hooligans with the launch of a new Pub Watch scheme.
Licensees from 25 venues have teamed up with the police and council to ensure Bury is a safer place to have a night out. The scheme aims to identify troublemakers earlier and remove them.
Alongside this, the BurySafe partnership has launched a campaign to reduce violent disorder, with slogans on posters and 20,000 beer mats.
Nick Westwell, chairman of Bury Pub Watch, said: “This is a fantastic new scheme for Bury and I am particularly pleased that this will bring extra high visibility policing to the town centre.”
