SIX people were stuck in a lift for more than half an hour after it broke down in the early hours of the morning.
They were returning from a night out when they got into the lift in the Atrium apartment block in Conway Avenue, Whitefield, at about 2am on Sunday.
The lift stopped between floors, and some of the members of the group were said to be distressed.
Firefighters were called because it would have been hours before lift engineers could be called out, and they used lift keys to free the group.
