THE Group celebrated the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns at their recent meeting.
Among the poems and readings was the famous Address to the Haggis, which was recited and explained to the members by Mrs Millicent Martin, who is a Scot herself.
The evening was rounded off with the singing of Auld Lang Syne.
This was made all the more poignant as members were also saying goodbye to treasurer Mrs Jill Senior who is emigrating to Portugal.
Group president Miss Joan Barcroft presented Mrs Senior with a painting of St Paul’s Church.
