MANY areas of the country ground to a halt this week because of heavy snowfalls.
I know we did not have as much snow as many areas, but I think that some recognition should still go to our council on this occasion for its prompt treatment of the roads.
I live at the bottom of a hill in a cul-de-sac. Driving up the hill has frequently given many residents considerable problems in the past.
On Monday morning, when we awoke, the road had already been sanded.
For once, no problems were experienced and, although I do not drive all over the borough, I certainly found all the roads I travelled on passable.
Congratulations instead of brickbats for once to Bury Council.
