A THREE-day beer festival in Bury will raise money for the £3.5 million Fusiliers’ Museum Appeal.
The Fusilier Beer Festival will be held in the Elizabethan Suite at Bury Town Hall between Thursday, April 30, and Saturday, May 2. A total of 60 beers, all with a military theme, will be available and several are being specially brewed for the occasion. The event is organised by Neville Crompton and is supported by members of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
Mr Crompton said: “The Fusiliers are part of our history. My friends in CAMRA and I decided that we would do what we could to help the Fusiliers and the new museum.”
Mike Glover, regimental secretary for the Fusiliers in Lancashire, said: “This is a significant time for the regiment as not only is the new museum due to open in June but the 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers will shortly arrive in Afghanistan. I hope that those who attend the beer festival will raise a glass to the lads on the frontline.”
