ACTRESS Lisa Riley raised more than a few eyebrows when she visited Bury.

The former Emmerdale actress returned to her hometown for a saucy performance to raise money for people with terminal illnesses.

She brought a star-studded cast to The Met, Bury, last Thursday for a one-off performance of her hit play The Naked Truth, where around £2,000 in donations to Bury Hospice were made on the night.

The hospice has been close to the heart of the Tottington-born TV star after her mother survived breast cancer and her grandmother was treated for the disease at the hospice before she died six years ago.

It was the second time the town has welcomed The Naked Truth, which tells the story of five friends who meet at a pole dancing club.

Lisa returned with a new cast, which included glamour model Abi Titmuss, Coronation Street’s Emily Aston, former Hollyoaks actress Julie Buckfield, and The Bill’s Julie Goodwin. Lisa said: “The plot is brilliant because Julie’s character, Sarah, is diagnosed with breast cancer and it fits perfectly with what we are trying to do.”

She said: “The atmosphere was electric and we had a wonderful, warm audience. During the performance, people went about with buckets getting donations for the hospice. It was fantastic. One lovely lady with an autograph book for all the girls to sign gave £120.”
