RAMSBOTTOM Library and Adult Learning Centre is to undergo a £400,000 extension to provide an additional large teaching space and a small art exhibition area.
work on the project, funded by the Learning and Skills Council and Bury Council, is due to start on Monday and should be completed by next April.
It is also hoped that a bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund, in partnership with Ramsbottom Heritage Society, will provide up to £50,000 for a small Heritage Museum space, similar to one at Prestwich Library and Adult Learning Centre.
It is expected that there will be only minimal disruption during the building work.
