COMMUNITY cohesion and different religions were embraced during a week of events at Bury CE High School.
Guests welcomed to the Haslam Brow school included the Mayor of Bury, Cllr Sheila Magnall, and the Bishop of Middleton, the Rt Rev Mark Davies.
In October, the school held a multi-faith day which included talks and readings by various faith representatives, plus songs, drama and dancing.
Photographs and work from that day were displayed during this week’s Inter-Faith Week.
The school’s head of religious education, Sharon Harbottle, said: “Inter-Faith Week gave the community the chance to appreciate all religions and to learn more about them.
“Tolerance and seeking to understand another’s point of view are signs of respect in society.”
Pupils and parents were shown around Bury’s Noor ul-Islam Mosque by Hassanat Ahmed, of the Muslim and Christian Forum of Bury.
