RADCLIFFE Riverside High School has sent 3,000 unwanted text books to children in Rwanda.
The English, science and maths books will not be needed at Riverside when the Abden Street campus closes and all pupils move to the Spring Lane site.
They are now on their way to a school in Nyamasheke, Rwanda, where classes of 50 students often only have a single book.
The thousands of books were packed by charity Cameo-Aid, with funding from Westhoughton Rotary Club and individuals.
