CHILDREN and adults can “hug a husky” when some very special four-legged friends visit Bury town centre on Saturday and Sunday.
A troupe of Siberian huskies will visit The Rock between 10am and 5pm.
Children up to the age of 11 will also have the opportunity to have a husky-pulled sleigh ride along The Rock. Dog lovers of any age can have their photograph taken with the playful puppies.
All visitors on the day will receive a free doggie crown and there will be a limited number of goodie bags on offer.
As well as the huskies, there will be choirs performing on Bury Market on Saturday, along with a magician, free face painting and balloon modelling. And the East Lancs Railway will be running their annual Santa Specials all weekend. Elsewhere, the Mill Gate grotto will be open.
Lisa Durkin, town centre manager, said: “The Siberian huskies have been a hugely successful in other towns and we are hoping they’ll get an equally good reception here in Bury.”
