BURY Hospice’s 2009 crop of its own rose is ready to buy, with just 65 roses available.
Named Love Everlasting, the rose bears large pale pink flowers which fade to a honey colour within its centre, on an upright plant with glossy dark green foliage. It has a light fragrance.
The flower has been cultivated by amateur champion rose-grower Tony Bracegirdle, from Ramsbottom. He said: “If the sale of this rose can contribute in any way I am glad to be of help.”
Claire Warner, the hospice’s director of fundraising, said: “No other hospice has this same rose. Stocks are limited and the flowers look and smell beautiful.”
To order the rose, priced at £12.50, can contact 0161 797 1748 or email fundraising@ buryhospice.org.uk. It is usually available a week after ordering.
