ON Sunday Simon Holder led a group of 12 on a walk from Marsden to Scammonden Water, the reservoir constructed wheh the M62 was built.
The weather was good, with just a few showers, but conditions underfoot were muddy. The walk was completed by crossing Slaithwaite Moor for a wet descent into Marsden in the failing daylight.
On Sunday, December 13, we have a five to six-mile morning walk in the Walmersley area led by Paul Tarry (01204 88 4080).
Meet at Bury Interchange car park at 9am. The walk is followed by an optional Christmas pub lunch (booking essential, contact Brenda Wheatley 0161 761 3403)
