THE November speaker was Angela Stephens, from The Age Of Opportunity, who spoke on the advantages of computing in the third age and where support and information could be found.
The libraries are a flagship in this enterprise. Angela then introduced Kevin Cocker, who approached his local library where he was introduced to computing and where the staff encouraged and supported him.
Now Kevin, through his computer, has contacted family members living abroad and travels to countries once out of his sphere.
The scrutiny panel, gave updates on health issues and the concept of residential care villages; councillors not engaging with the general puplic and acting without consultation with other interested groups.
Names were taken from those who wished to attend a Links meeting on Power of Many Voices.
There will be no December meeting, the next meeting will be January 15 at 1pm, in the town hall, in the Lancashire Fusiliers Room.
