A WOMAN and her son were rescued by neighbours after their home was targeted in a suspected arson attack.
Firefighters were called to Rydal Grove, Whitefield, at about 10.30pm last night. (Thursday) A 29-year-old woman and her six-year-old son had been pulled out of the burning house by neighbours.
Another youngster, an 11-year-old resident in the house, had already escaped unharmed.
It is believed the fire was deliberately started in the kitchen an a police investigation in underway to establish the cause.
