On Sunday March 4th Barbara McCormack led a 9 mile walk from Pennington Flash, a large lake, the result of mining subsidence, and now popular with anglers, sailors and walkers.

Our walk took us along the Glazebrook Trail through mainly arable farmland, with no hills but lots of clinging mud to make the going difficult in places.

On Sunday March 18th Alan Pilling (07762950031) leads a 14 mile walk from Settle. Derek Tomson (01204 88 3376) leads an easier 10 mile walk to Jumbles and Wayoh reservoirs. For either meet Bury Interchange car park at 9.00AM. On Wednesday March 21st meet Ed Husband (07890201779) at 1.30Pm at Ramsbottom Railway Station car park for a 5 mile walk through the "Wild Garlic Valley"
